WTB: 2 12's and an amp...

A guy that goes to my school was talking to me the other day and told me he wanted to get 2 12's and an amp to power them. He said he cares very little about SQ, he said he wants almost all SPL. The problem here is that he only has $300 to spend due to his paranoid mother...long story....He has a pioneer 3600 and some polk components...

What setup would you suggest for this price range

And the reason i am asking is because he said he could not register on this forum, i dont know why but i told him i would ask

*edit*- he said he is going to use the 300 for just the two 12's. he is going to try to get the amp as a gift or something...

Used/new doesnt matter....

What are your suggestions for 2 12's for SPL for $300?

Any particular brand you looking for? I have 2 12" Audiobahn aw122t subs that I used for a week and put them right back in the box, nothing wrong with them. They have been sitting in their boxes for about 2 months. If you are interested in these make me an offer.

pioneer premiere SPL3002's are ****ing amazing SPL and SQ under 2000 watts.

if you give em 3k watts a piece like thier RMS, they are bad SQ and crazy loud.

but i doubt he'll ever have 3k watts a piece for em, they are loud with low power too, great subs

theyre about $130 a piece on ikesound... but their rating isnt 3000RMS... try 1000.

SQ is a bit lacking at high volume but I would hardly consider it just plain bad.

they could be closely compared, but the Type R seems to have the edge over the 3000SPL.

have you heard the 3000spl, i thought you had two years ago model the 2002spl or something.. which was alot weaker than the new version.

i'd put the type R and the 3002spl on the same page, with the winner based on the install.

and pioneer claims a 3k watt max on the subwoofer, and a RMS of 1000w, i put one of mine on my friend lances 2500d and it did fine to about half gain where it started to distort.. it got loud all the way to full gain.

the spl is a good sub.
