i currently have two cvr 12" in a 4.7 cubic feet box tuned to 34 hz(behind third row of durango) running off a planet audio 900d. I want something louder and like the fosgate t1. Was also thinking type r. so heres the question...

T1 or TYPE R or SUGGESTIONS

which of these get louder, sound better??

amplifier isnt a problem (OWN t10001bd) and want to spend about $200-$400 on

2 12's. Thanks for the help.

i have heard both i preffer the sound of the type-r's to the T1's and i have also heard that the t1 isn't the most durable esspecially when pushed to max wattage... i think the type-r is the best designed sub alpine makes for the price... frankly... i've never been too impressed with an installation consisting of type-x's for the price but the type-r's are nice

so would the type r's get louder than the t1s in the exact same setup :
t10001bd

4.7 @34 hz
just my opinion...
don't know enough about the t1's to know that for shure but i would think ur gunna get more volume out of the type-r's with a t10001bd... because the t1's are rated for i believe 150 more watts then the type-r's so you'll be under-powering the t1's where you'd giving the type-r more power to handle (depending on your ohm load)... it's always better to have more power than you need... so yeah i'm going with the t1's... (this whole opinion is based on the actuall wattage of your amp... (probably more than 1000 watts) which is on the birthsheet... check that and if u have enough power to overpower the t1's by about 75- 100 watts... then you should get them and just back the gain off a bit.)

yea thanks ill buy the dual 4 ohm and they wire down to 1 ohm so i can pull 1400 rms, would that be two much considering they only ask for 600 rms each
no it won't be too much... actually it'll be about perfect you don't want to have to max your gain out to push your subs you'll get better quality haveing the extra wattage... remember that gain isn't how much the amp is amplifying.. but rather how sensitve the amp is to the input... plus the ratings on the t1's are slightly conseravtive so they should take the wattage very nicely... but get as many opinions as you can before you make the decision thats allways best:D

so you're saying that the t1 you heard was louder than both your cvrs?
kicker's round subs are pretty decent, actually good for the price

kicker's subs = over-rated crap if you want to move air buy a fan... if you want to play music don't buy kicker

I don't know why the T1 has such a bad rep //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I'm giving my T1 approx. 1000-1100 watts RMS from a Hifonics BXi1206D for a while now, and I push the sub pretty hard and it hasn't failed on me. I mean, I do have my gains set right and I don't crank the volume to max but I do still play it hard. I personally like it compared to most subs I've heard around here.

not a lot of people around here like fosgate, but i personally am partial to them for some reason prolly bc my first set of subs was hx2 10's in a single cab running on a dsm 250, it was all my brothers stuff that he handed down. I later bought power hx2 12's and LOVED those. Got really loud. those were in my buddys explorer. I have owned kicker, fosgate, quantam audio, cerwin vega, jl audio, interfire(will never buy again), pioneer, sony (unfortunately, but $30 for some 5 sided) and might venture into internet market and see if the hype is true, just need some advice.
