what he said: "They never made one for consumers with a 3 ohm... but I'm not an avg consumer.

I run dual 3's like I said. I'm quite aware of the current line of eclipse subs as many other companies. I tried 1, 2, 3, and 4 ohm loads and experienced the best sound out of dual 3's.

If I can get another regular eclipse I have a few sets of new dual 3 ohm voice coils to drop in. Shouldn't take me more than a few hours. Has been at least 3 years since I last changed the voice coils on my eclipse.

My peak wattage is about 3.9k with a very small burst up to about 5k. That's where I normally crush most subs is with the peak. My ecplise handled the peak great... it was the rms that caught up after the years. Just by where the rubber surround broke I can tell exactly what range of watts I was pushing @ what hz also. Was peaking about 2200 @ 40 hz. Just enuf to shear the rubber in the cold morning."

rather interesting conversation Im having with this guy about his "custom" eclipse ti12 that he blew with his zapco DC1100.1

discuss..

haha its to much fun hearing what hes got to say...he posted pics up in his gallery and the captions say "the loudest f150" so I guess the cap and extra battery he has helps with all those debeezzz!
note his ti12 was in .7 cuft sealed...
actually those ti's sound good in small sealed.....hell they sound good in most enclosures...I miss mine:crap://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

his new reply

"I don't have anywhere close to stock internals in it. You won't find a thing around like it. I take advantage of the ways you can use ohm's to your advantage. You gotta remember your amps caps, and internals all work best to that one ohm. Some push better power at 1 then 4 etc. Caps etc vary with heat... and having lower ohms makes more heat. My internals were designed and tailored for my specific said ohm. It just doesn't function the same otherwise.

It's very important to look at not only the rms but the peak power to understand how things actually work. I look at car audio in a physics point of view. Kind of why I took it in school so long. Was for car audio. Looking at stuff in a broad spectrum of data rather than one listed point is always better and breaks down how things work. Having peak watts and watts at different running temperatures will better give you an understanding of how to curve both your amp's internals, your eq, and the deck's eq together to work with those power curves.

You would be amazed at some of the stuff some of my buddies have tailored up. Stuff you don't see on the market because really, it doesn't exist. Well commercially."
