Every time I go to the grocery store and the person in front of me pulls out that stupid little food stamp card it just pisses me off. Especially when all they have is a bunch of junk food. I never have and never would live in a trailer house for that matter. How could they court marshal them when they have already been discharged from the military under a medical discharge?? We are now learning that the ******* rates of returning combat vets are four times higher than we thought. We also were treated to this fact that there are over 160,000 homeless veterans in this country. I do a lot of volunteer work at a homeless shelter and have worked to establish a veterans’ homeless shelters in Boston. I can say with a sadness that cuts very deep that we are now seeing returning veterans from this current war living on the streets of Boston and L.A.

proof that most veterans are just lazy trash who dont want to earn a living and take care of themselves.

when they dont get the welfare handout they want they just kill themselves.

Seems like a pretty good solution to me.

I'm always amused when people like you start talkin shit on the internet. I work 7 days a week most of the time and have probably paid more in taxes then you ever will so don't preach to me about your tax money, it's mine too. The only thing I ever got for free from the government was a $6,000 sign on bonus which almost half of went to taxes and I also completed what I signed up for. People like you make me sick. If I was still stationed in Kansas I would be half temped to go up to that shit hole you call a state and debate this in person with you. our citizens who volunteered are being asked to give their money back to the govt. but you dont see any govt officials over there in iraq fighting.

i bet you if even 10% of govt officials and congressman went to iraq to fight that "rule" or "law" would be vetoed and nulled in less than a day

i know 4 people in iraq. one of them got hurt but he was able to stay. (mortar strike on one of the camps, just got cut up bad.) i bet you if i told any of them this they would prolly flip out. ( if they dont already know about it)

If anything I'd say the contracts need to be revised. I would think that a limb is kinda priceless. There's no amount of money you can pay me that would make me think..."Sure, you can blow off my leg. And take an eye out while you're at it!" There is obviously a discrepancy.

Scenario:

Two soldiers are offered the same contract. They are sent to different regions. One region is suffering an onslaught of malicious militia men. The other has already seen the demise of conflicting sects. One man finishes the terms of service due to a decreased factor of risk. The other was sent home early in a paraplegic state. Who paid the higher price during their tenure: the soldier that spent the most time or the soldier that lost limbs?
