I gotta raise at work yesterday. I've been hearing lottsa stories from various employees that they don't pay all that well and all I got was we give raises once a yr, in Aug. Sorry, I'm not gonna wait till Aug just to get more $. This company plays games and 1 thing is not to mess around with is employee wages. I was ready to go up to the manufacturing mgr and thank him for hiring me, I learned quite a bit here, so on and so forth. Earlier in the day, I asked about a pay scale supposily I was at a Machinist 3 level which was written down on paper in my employee file. Later on, the wknd supervisor, which I work, came up to me and says that increases only happen in Aug. I was not very happy and my mind was wandering what to do...just walk out?? Instead, the manufacturing mgr. came up to me, later on during the day, and says...well we generally give 50 cents or a dollar for those who do really good for their first 90 days. In this case, your doing really good so 1.50 is increased on your wage....which is now 13.50. So....am I happy about it? Sure am. Funny thing is they need employees so maybe thats part of the reason I got it. I wanted 14....I really should be making 15-16 but can't complain I guess. This is just a side job, tho it is 36 hrs get paid for 40 for the wknd shift.
