Hey, I'm just wondering if any of you would use this battery charger. Its rated at 25 amps at 12v and is supposed to be as good as a kinetek or stinger. What do you think? I've got an opportunity to distribute them and I'm just not sure if its worth it or not to get into.

Go to walmart and buy a schumacher its small and it trickle charges and quick charges 29.95
You are completely right for charging the battery. This would be for a little different purpose.
This is a regulated charger, its more designed for mounting in the car. Hence, the aluminum case, mounting system and support for permanently wiring into the car. So, I'm thinking using it more as a permanently installed unit I can simply and easily connect in the garage to charge up or maintain the system when its parked a while.

Make sense?

Isn't that just a regulated power supply? I know you can charge batteries with them, amps are amps, after all... But, what I linked is a charger \ maintainer so it can rapidly charge and then go to maintenance mode automatically. So, more like a Kinetik KIPS12-45 than a regulator.

Does that make any sense?

it is just a regulated power supply...

the auto-mode is because it is regulated... it only supplies the power required based on the load

same as a PC power supply does //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

and a decent used PC PS is 25$ and has upto 40-70 amps of REGULATED 12 volt power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I don't want to be a jerk here but its really not just a regulated power supply. Its a 3 stage, computer controlled automatic charger and regulator. Thats a heck of a lot more than just a regulator.

Got an internal schematic?
Here's a link to the manufacturers product page. It explains a bit more on how it works. As far as a schematic goes I'd have to get one and open it up for a picture. I'm not sure how hard it would be to get a schematic otherwise.
Anyway, the product is claiming to be a 3 stage unit. Obviously we're not familiar with it here so we don't know what it is really capable of but why assume the manufacturer is lying about its capabilities until there's a reason too?
