Would YOU go back??

you are on an audio forum, why are you even taking it somewhere to get worked on?
Biggest reason, I'm not confident enough in my 'skills' to work in my car and get the finished product how I want it.

This particular install requires some cutting of my door covers, and I don't have the skills or the tools. I want it done right, and I don't want it to take a week(like it probably would if I did it).

Just tell him your time is pretty valuable to you, and that he wasted a lot of it the time before. Ask him why you should trust that it will be done when he said after the last time? Then maybe he will kiss your *** with a discount, and both of you are happy?

If they had been honest with you in the first place I would have said yes give them another try, but lying to you and giving you the run around I would say no unless you get a big discount for your trouble.

if there is another good shop in the area that you would trust with your car i would suggest going somewhere else. i hate people that lie to me. if they are so busy chances are they are going to cut corners to hurry up and finish your job to get to the next. i would say take a little more time, research some more shops and go somewhere else.

That's what I was thinking, too. I mean, I already made an appointment, and then a box took all DAY??! Seems to me like I might've got bumped for the more expensive job, or for a friend of the guys at the shop. If you have me make an appointment, make sure you're able to work on my gear when I show UP for MY appointment. I didn't think it was that hard of a concept to understand. I guess when you're shady as hell, it doesn't matter.

I would guess that the box messed up the production for the shop in a major way. If that's the case the shop probably took a pretty good hit for the day in terms of income and turn around. I would request a 10% discount. If they only had a 1 week waiting period to get in I'd say they wouldn't want to lose that income and will oblige.

lol dude took the time to call you mid-day and lie, lmao! pretty classy. he could have just as well said " hey man, we havent had a chance to even start your car yet. why dont you come pick it up and we can get going on it tomorrow." i say tell them to fak off. or you can be a prick and tell them you will be there in the morning, dont show up then call at noon and say you will be there in 30 minutes then dont show again.. an eye for an eye lol.

Myself, no I wouldn't let a shop do it (even the one I work at)...

If I wasn't able (no tools/exp) and I was in your position, I'd start asking around on the forums here for a few people near you to see if they can come over for a few bucks or a pack of beer and help you do it.

In the end-I'd call 'em on it, and see what they say from there
