Would YOU go back??

Friday of last week, I made an appointment to get some car audio install work done on my car. The appointment was made for yesterday at 9am. I was told if I left my car there with them for the day, it'd be finished by the end of the day.
I get there at 9:15 in the morning, he asked me what time I wanted to have the car back by, I told him 3pm would be great, and then I said, if it takes a little longer to do it right, then it's no biggie, just by the end of the day. So I unload my 6month old son out of the back seat, give them my keys, and they say they'll call me when it's done. They told me they had to finish up a box project first, but it shouldn't take long at all, and they'd get right on my install. I call a friend to have them come pick me up, and then I lock my car up in the front parking lot of the shop.

12:20 I get a call from the shop manager, says they're just getting started on my install, and it should take most of the afternoon. I say thanks for letting me know, and give me a call when it's done.

4:15 that same afternoon, the same shop manager calls me and tells me that they ran into some issues with the fiberglass box they were trying to finish up, and that they'd have to finish my install the next day. I ask, "well, how much more of my install needs to be done?" The shop manager tells me "the majority of it", and then apologizes for not getting it done, references the box build again, and asks if they can keep it overnight, so that they can get to it first thing tomorrow. I told him no, I need my car back now(I've got kids), so put things back together so that I can drive it home tonight. The shop owner tells me that they were going to put the door panels and stuff back on for me real quick, so that I can come and pick it up in a few.

I get dropped off back there at 4:45, and I get my keys back. I ask the guy "Dude, why did I have to make an appointment in advance in the first place if you guys never even really got started on my car??" He tells me "I'm really sorry, man, and mentions the box deal again. He then tells me to bring my car back in the morning, and they'd be able to get to it first thing, because he 'knows' his installer's schedule is clear for the morning. Naturally, by this time, I'm so frikkin PISSED I can't even look at the guy anymore.

I go outside, load my 6 month old boy back in the car, get in, start it up, and I notice that the interior of the car hasn't even been TOUCHED all day. Everything in both the front and back seats were exactly as I left them early in the morning. Nobody even went out to my car all day, much LESS started taking door panels off or anything. Fawkin liars. I even told them before I made the appoint with them, that I've had some crappy experiences with installers/shops, and that I just wanted somebody honest and dependable to work on my ride. They assured me they understood, and that things with them would be different.

So I basically made an appoint with them almost a week in advance to work on my car, and leave it there ALL day, only to find out, I went out of my way to rearrange my schedule so my car could sit in there front parking lot all DAY, locked up and never touched....even though they said they got started.

So if you read all of that, first off, thank you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif My question is, would YOU have shown up there the next morning with your ride, and be willing to let them 'work' on it for another(probably) full day??

did you give them a deposit?

I personally wouldn't go back. Audio work on the car isn't needed and I can surely wait.

i would say do the install yourself but i understand u probably dont have time with the kid n shit so i would go back down there call them on there lie and if there not honest about it again then bounce if they tell u they didnt touch it stick with em and ask for 10-15 % off

not doing it yourself = more time for your children. Bring it to another shop. no rush, it's just car audio.
Good point man, thx. I've got a 6 month old boy and a 5 yr old girl that I stay hope with daily 'cause I got laid off, and my wife works. For me to do it the 'right' way...like how I'd REALLY like it done, would just take too **** long.

I've got the $$ to pay somebody to do it. I just need somebody that's worth a shit and that knows what they're doing to step up to the plate.

I don't think you had to quote the OP to clarify who your question was directed to.
LOL And nope, I didn't give them any kind of deposit or money up front. I never do when it comes to anything car audio related. It's all COD, as far as I'm concerned.
