would you consider this sloppy? *pics*

Zip-tie or shrink tube the wires together going to the amp. Just some simple wire loom could help make it look better too.

The ground connection, you need to go ahead and reseal the metal you removed the paint from. I usually ground under the veicle, and just paint over the whole connection with undercoating afterwards, but that place appears to be highr up on the body... I dunno, paint it? Seal it up some how, and hopefully you used dialetric grease? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

All in all looks good, just could use a couple minor finishing touches. Ive built much much sloppier before. lol

One thing i would definitely do is try and minimize the exposed wire where the power/ground wires attach the the terminals. Don't want anything shorting them.
yea i plan on getting some ring terminals. i have some that im going to try filing down, if not ill find smaller rings. i hate connecting straight to the amp like that unless its a block connection, the kind you use an alan wrench to tighten down, each in its own sealed off square. most kicker amps have them.

cut 2 little x's w. a exacto knife in the back seat carpet.... run the wires under the carpet...
no, where i have the wires now are fine. perfectly aligned and tucked throughout the car. they just come up there to get to the amp. when i get my subamp installed, im thinking im going to get a peice of carpet color matched to my car, cut a strip, and glue it over the center line from left to right. cut circles for the wires to come thru. should only see about a 1/2 inch of wire for each connection. either that, or shrink wrap them.

looks fine, if you zip-tied the wires. used ring terminals on the amp.
also i would not have grounded where you did..
whats wrong with my ground? its on bare metal. didnt want to risk drilling into any wires/gas can on the bottom of my car. as u can see, after it was power sanded, it IS bare metal. got any pointers on a better location? i think that ground is fine for my comp amp. but for my subamp, i would like a stronger ground. got a suggestion?

My installs look like a rats nest and I have actually used velcro to mount amps twice.

Velcro.

But hey everything sounded great and was secure so who cares....how often do people see your trunk?

your car is also probably unibody. that bare metal spot you used is welded to another peice .

but meh it will be ok..

the power wire and ground wire makes it look sloppy where it goes into the amp, get some 4gauge reducers and you should be good they zip tie all the wires together and put the black plastic shroud around it and you will be perfect
