anyone used type r components?

looking into some new components. narrowed it down to the 6.5" type R's, eclipse SC 2-ways, RSD (cheap, but i hear theyre amazing) or... i see alot of people have AA poly mids and vifa tweets. where do i find AA poly mids?

how do you like your SLC's? could u compare them to lower end CDT's? not a direct compare, but how much better would u say they are?

Well honestly they are the only components on an amp that Ive heard......I miss them dearly but shouldnt be parted with them much longer. Basically amazing compared to everything Ive heard over the years

Mt Type-R's do horrid without deadening, and as mentioned, the tweets can be harsh. I got them near satisfactory now with HU settings, but now my mids hit their limit too early haha.

I'd say get the RSd's if you have about 100 RMS a channel to play with.

well the eclipse amp in my sig does 130 x 2 @ 4. i was just wondering about the type r's, they were the first to pop up when i searched for comp set. i have a lack of midbass, guessing because i need a baffle? i dunno.. dont know how well the baffle will work out considering its on the door. with a baffle, the mid will stick out further and there will be a gap at the bottom between the baffle and door pod. cuz i had to cut the door in a semi half circle at the top to mount it. ill try it tho... dont see the need for any deadening in the doors. althouth as of now, they havealot of excursion, move very nice, rattle my rearview and vibrate my doors. but theres not much bass. with the windows up (lack of air racing by) i can hear thema little more, but not by much. im gonna go outside and mess around with them. see if i can find some place for more screws. try and make it as air tight as possible. ill have my sub amp next week, so the lack of mids wont be a problems cuz ill have those over powering any midbass there would have been. ill mess around tho, get a mdf ring for it i guess and see what happens

what about the brand new type r's ones cuz they changed them? they almost look like the typx x version. i have not gotten a chance to hear the new ones yet.
