heres the coil of my mt18, i took the dustcap off because it was making a noise. would this cause the sub to make a bad noise at high volumes?

you can see on the left where it rubs or was rubbing

Get a straight angle shot as well. The angled picture is inconclusive.

i can hear it scratching when i put my ear close to it at low volumes, but at high volumes it gets bad, not a scratching sound anymore

i cant tell by the straight pics either, but if you hear the scratching and see somethign where it rubbed i would say recone time

or could it be the amp thats making the sub make the noise? it kinda sounded like wood rattling, so i tore my whole trunk apart and built a new box in there 2 days ago, now its not as loud, and the noise is still there when i turn it up

Looks out of alignment. Especially if there is wear on the inside of the former. MT's have a very tight gap normally, so any slight misalignment would cause this problem.
