Minivan man why would this not work?
I apologize, it's not that it won't work, it's rather very, very limited in it's capabilities. What you gain in going active is totally defeated by a unit that has preset, limited options.

With a unit like that you might as well just use a passive crossover. You're not really gaining anything.

Active crossovers don't need to be complicated, but a variable (via potentiometer) crossover point is critical, and really the biggest benefit of going active.

 
That coustic does look nice. I have to set some price limit, though. The pyramid does have it's limitations, i agree. If i cross the highs low pass at 4000 with a 6db, and then the lows at 2k with a 6db, i should still have a decent amount of sound in that range, but just not as loud, correct?
How much is your price limit?

That Coustic model that was mentioned is a good performer, that would be my choice.
