would this be an upgrade??

I want to upgrade my current system which is an sp4 15 wired to 1 ohm on a crescendo bc 3500 and my electrical is up to par. I have a chance to get a second sp4 15 and I would be wired down to a half ohm on my 3500. My question is that someone told me that unless I upgrade my power I wont hear an audible difference with just adding a second 15 and going to a half ohm. I find it pretty hard to believe that I wouldn't move any more air or notice an audible difference but does anybody on here have an idea of what I can expect? I just don't want to waste my money on a second 15 if I wont notice a difference. Thanks for the help

soundqubed is a nice choice but u still Proly won't notice much difference audibly i would do the two sp4's so u can double the power down the road. now as far as sq with the sq subs my sdc was quite musical it really surprised me. but there again it wasn't a hdc3 so i can't comment on their sq.

Just clarifying you think it would be better to stick with the two sp4's and double the power someday rather than but two hdc3 18's an run them off my current power?
