Would this AMP work good for 2 12" Alpine Type Rs?

The Audiopipe AP1800-1D model will do all the power youll ever need for those Rs, and can be had for under 200. If you want a real nice amp you can try and find a used Sundown 1500 for that price in the classifieds.

seems there isn't any on ebay right now, I would just go with the 1501d instead, that will still have plenty of headroom running a couple type r's and surely put out more power than the 1210 for a little less cash

Either the 1800 or the 1500 will do rated and will be comparable to the 1210 in quality and reliability , they are all budget amps but all seem to be quite reliable, I had an ap1500 on my bl 18" and it seemed to put out more power than the hifonics bxi1500 I had and ran a good bit cooler.

no it wouldnt work....a long run of 4ga shouldnt run more than 1200 watts...

Knukoncepts has 1/0 for like $1.75 a foot right now, I would upgrade to that. 4 gauge will be fine as long as it's short run's, say from a distro block but for the price I would grab 1 run of 1/0.
