would this amp be too much?

I have 2 10"JLw3 some people say that rms is 300 and some say rms is 500. I was thinking about getting a JL JX1000.1 to power them but i don't want the amp to be too powerful for these subs. The amp is rated(at 12.5V) 500 x 1 @ 4ohms, 700 x 1 @ 3ohms, and 900 x 1 @ 2ohms. Would the subs like this power or what do you think?

Both are single 4 ohm will wire them down to 2 ohms

i have this weird feeling about having my sub and amp match, so unless i find i outrageous deal on another brand. I'm looking to stay with a JL amp

Well, that JL amp will be a bit much for your subs at 2ohm, but as long as you set the gains properly, and then turn them down just a bit, you should be all right.

I have installed a few of those locally on a pair of W3 subs. They did a pretty good job, but most of them were in hatches with ported enclosures.

I'd go with the 1000.1. You'll have a little bit of headroom if you ever decide to upgrade subs later and you'll be fine with the gains set right.
