would these work well in doors?

do you need that specific driver? there are better car audio choices, IMO for less.
dayton's come to mind.
what music do you like? do you like the sound of scratchy voices? if you dont know anything about crossovers and eq's then i suggest something with a bit softer of a sound! eminence is great for loud non sq installs........but if that is what you want then more power to ya and good luck:)

Are you looking to run active. With drivers like that, you either need to knowledge of how to build passive crossovers, or you need to run active. If you're running active, then I, (we) can give you a ton of suggestions that will sound great and not break the bank.

Very true. If you want SQ, Eminence is NOT the way to go.

For a great, cheap set of passives, look at the Crystal SSCS 6 or Phoenix Gold RSds. The Crystals are like $160 from ROE's store, and the PGs are like $129 I think from OCS.

Here's my latest budget boner

The Mach Audio MLI-65

Coupled with this tweeter

Under $100.00 after shipping for some very nice speakers.

Run them active and you have a pretty nice setup that you can brag only cost you "X" amount of dollars.

The mid that DejaWiz recommends is rock solid as well, albeit a bit difficult to work with. If a large format tweeter isn't your cup of tea, then the Seas Neo is a great option, and will match up decently with the RS180.

If you feel you may get the upgrade bug down the road, the Seas Neo is a great place to start as it's a very versatile tweeter, and performs up there with tweeters much, much more expensive.

The Alpine tweeter is a derivative of Vifa's XT19 which is a highly regarded home tweeter. Beautiful sounding tweeter, but special attention needs to be paid when picking mids to match up with it.

Those Mach5s don't have that great of HD levels according to Zaphaudio. Still, for $18 apiece, hard to beat.

Anyway, to the OP, check out Zaphaudio.com and look at the "6.5" to 7" Driver Comparison" as well as the "Tweeter Mishmash. Those are a great source for info when looking for raw drivers to use in an active setup. They have products from all different price ranges, so you're good to go.
