Would my subs drown out 2 Koda 8's??

I am putting 3 12w6v2's in the back of my 2dr blazer. I have brand new Koda 8's and was wondering if it would be useless to install them. I have basically a wall like setup behind the 2nd row of seats and was going put the one Koda on each side, directly next to the back passengers ears.

Then I got to thinking, do you think that the 2 8's would be useless next to 3 w6v2's?

Then I got to thinking, well maybe I will make some sort of fiberglass center conole and put them in there.

Will they be heard loud enough to be able to waste the time and money to build an enclosure for them?

They will be pushed by the 5th channel of my amp, 400X1 at 2 ohms

You are going to be using them for subbass aswell? If so, I'd say don't bother.

Put one in each door.....they'd make hella midbass drivers though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

putting them closer to your head will not help imaging. put them in the bottom corners of your doors and aim them at the opposing passanger\driver. with 150w in a .3~.5 sealed box, they should help quite a bit if done correctly.

Well, they would be running off 300X1 at 2 ohms (running them in parallel) off the fifth (sub) channel of a 5 channel amp. Do most 5 channel amps allow you to run the 5th channel NOT off a LPF.

It would be stupid to run the two 8's on a low pass filter set at 120hz with 3 12's running at the same LPF. Does anyone know if the 5th channel on most 5 channel amps, esp. MTX thunder 895, allow you to do a full pass?

I would be pushing my stock speakers with about 50w rms and have the koda and the w6v2's.

Wouldnt it be smarter to sell the Kodas and buy a good set of comps? Then I could bypass the whole 5 channel amp problem

If you are going to use them as midbass drivers (one a side) DO NOT use a mono amp, they need stereo signals.
I was going to say this but was too lazy to post it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I figured someone would get to it

like said - if you need to bridge them. forget it. anything cept a subwoofer and a center channel needs stereo (i think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif )

upgrade your stocks (cdt, re, dls, boston, ect) and if you are still getting drowned out, your amp needs to be upgraded, and midbass is definatly a good consideration.

Yep. Since as well all know subbass is omni-directional, there is no need for a stereo signal (or even two subs of course). But once you start getting into the midbass freqs and higher, we start being able to discern sound pointsourcing, and a stereo setup is needed.

Center channels are usually just summed left and right channels with a passband, but I dont think they really count. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Aight makes sense. Should I sell the 5 channel and then buy a 4 channel amp for speakers and then a 2 channel for the midbass?? Or just sell the Koda's and get comps and a 4ch?

Any recommendations on good priced comps?
