Would it matter?

I have a 06 mustang which means NO trunk space. I need 2.5 cubes for 2 10s but when we do a cardboard box, it doesnt fit. We have to use dimensions that dip to 2.2. I was wondering, would it matter if I built 2 boxes at 1.25 cubes each? I like the one box idea but it just wont fit through the trunk being so big. I dont see this affecting performance but what about wiring?

I had one 12 and wanted something new lol. I want ported and optimal for them is 1.25 each. They are d2 subs so would i just wire each sub with a one ohm load and connect the positives and the negatives into the amp since its a mono?

I believe you could do that or you could wire them together @ .5 ohm or 2 ohm i believe. someone correct me if im wrong on that.

You could just go to a better 12" ported.

I had an Fi Bl 12 ported and sold it for 2 10s. Just trying something new as I got tired of it taking up my entire trunk. How would I wire them together for a 2 ohm load if they are in seperate boxes?

Wire each one to 1 ohm, then wire both subs to 2 ohm. Someone should be able to dray a diagram, i only deal with single sub set-ups.

Ok hopefully someone does that because I am kind of confused. Ive never had 10s and i just wanted to try them out. But i loved my single 12, especially since it sounded better than people with multiple subs.

I have a question. If your going from the 12" in 2.5, to 2 10"s in 1.25 a piece, how are you saving any room ? you said the 12" took up the whole trunk but you are looking at the same box size. I would go to a better 12".

I believe I have it. Connect 1 neg and 1 pos together for each sub then just run both sets of wire to amp and put the positives together and the negatives together. Should be a 2 ohm load.

Well the way I built it, I didnt care for trunk space so i was going to rebuild a box this summer but decided to sell it all to my friend and try a single 10. Then I wanted 2 10s because i knew i could build a box that was the same size as my 12 but make it fit in my trunk easier to where i had room. Basically i changed my mind after i sold it. I figured if i kept the 12 id be doing the same thing as 2 10s so why not.

Yes I did. Diamond d9s. Im going with the 2 boxes setup because that will fit easy and be able to take out easy if i get a flat. According to PSP port calculator, a 2 inch port per box needs 6 inches, while a 3 needs 10. Will it matter the diameter of the port? I used a 4 inch aero on my 12 but at 4 inches i need 20 inches which i wont have.
