Would a powered4sound enclosure benefit me now?

I have my cvr 12's ported at 37Hz with a 600D in a 4cuft seperate chamber box., but why get a box thats only good for one type of sub. Would the SPL aspect make any difference whatsoever? Basically my (2) 12's would sound like (4) 12's using a Doubleshot box?? People have told me that the SQ is fabulous, but I only need some SPL advise here? How much would the spl go up using their doubleshot box?

thanks

honestly you arent gonna double your output and you really need to experiment to see how much it will improve your dB in your car. Most competitors go through a shitload of boxes before they find the one they stick with.

ruckus, have you heard a P4S or custom snailshell setup before?

I see you are in Miami, ruckus. Let's meet up so I can show you what a simple snailshell is capable of. And, I didn't spend $300 on one from P4S either. I simply built one for less than $100. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

no i havent heard a doubleshot but no box is gonna make 2 12" sound like 4 12" in a regular custom box. I dont care how good the box is your not gonna double the output. If you get 150dB in a custom SPL box with 2 12" XXX your not gonna get more than a 2-3 dB higher in a p4s. I didnt say it wasnt a good box alot of guys are winning competitions using them but alot more are winning using boxes they built themselves.

and James Im sure your 15" XXX has alot to do with the dB in your ride man whether you have a snailshell or another custom box I bet the difference is only a couple dB which is alot but not double //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

^ true. But everyone who competes knows that a single dB could determine whether you get a 1st or a 2nd place trophy. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Oh yeah, I think the XXX has something to do with it as well. However, I had a XXX 18 in a box that was 9.5 cu ft and I custom built it inside of my trunk on a DEI 2400d (I also had a Crossfire VR2000d at one time). That sub was LOUD. And, the output from this current setup sounds just as loud to the ear but sounds a lot better in terms of accuracy when the bass hits. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know the sub has to do with it, but like I always said....

"It's all in the install. If you haven't the time to do it right the first time, where do you find time to do it again?"

yeah I was just answering his question on whether the box will make his 2 subs sound like 4 and the answer is no. but it will more than likely give 2 or 3 dB you know anyone with doubleshot plans for 12" XXX? Im planning on getting a couple by jan 06 and I prefer to make my own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
