so i just spent more money then a should have on a 1501bd rockford amp and its twice the power 1600wrms~ @ 2 ohm mono, than my old amp was 800wrms~ @4 ohm mono and now that i have the 1600 watt in there instead of the 800 there was no change at all, the only way i gain anythin is with actually cranking the gain all the way up, i set the gain at 55V previous to cranking it up, and so i have turned my loud to medium on my deck and have the amp gain turned to 55V and barely see a difference in bass from the 800 to the 1600, i know that the rockford can draw 90 amps, but my electrical system is capable of that, also why is there two rca inputs high pass through input and just regular input and do i want the subsonice filter on or off???? please help if you dont understand just ask and i will try to explain better

i made a mistake the first amp was a two channel and i had 1 voice coil per channel (dual 4 ohm) so it was running at 4 ohms recieving 800 watts, my new amp is mono so i have my sub wired to 2 ohms into the amp, ive checked the wiring a few times, and am smarted enough to know that it is right

That last statement, inandofitself, is priceless. Good job.

What was the amp the 1501 replaced?

crunch drive series, $50 ebay....... claimed 400x2 @4 ohms, so i doubt it was even at 800 watts....i was running that amp with stock alt and bat, now since i have purchased the 1501bd i have done the big 3, spv44 stinger battery and 160 amp alt and 4 ga power wires and i even have 8 ga speaker wires, so i know that its not a lack of power, could the amp possibly have something wrong with it,

Uugh.

Crunch. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The "red-headed stepchild" of the Maxxsonics family.

If the 1501bd you have now is giving you no more output than the Crunch it replaced then on an MTX 9500 then I would suggest yes, something could possibly (probably from the sounds of things) be wrong with it.

it would be nice if there wasnt, i spent alot of money on it, man this sux, the bass is just not there, its there just not what should be, its like my 9500 is laughing at 1600 watts

the amp is capable of drawing 150 at full tilt /w a sine wave, and you've changed things on your deck, not keeping everything the same, there are other variables besides the deck.

well first off, leave all the settings on the deck the same, and then adjust the gains, what ever you need to do /w the amp. then see if it's the same/different. isolate different parts of the system to find the problem. if all else fails, if you have some extra money, get another 1501BD and see if it's any different

i wish i had extra money, i couldnt save a penny if i wanted to, also there is another input on the amp, one ive never seen, it says BD Sync, it looks like an s-video plug

Do you have the punch bass control hooked up ? For some reason the BD amps seem like they dont put out full power unless it is connected , you dont have to turn the bass knob up it just needs to be connected ....

The bd sync is for strapping 2 BD1500's together , the bass control is ran through a phone line cord to the amp .
