Would A 15" Brahma in A ported box, be able to take over an 18" Ava sealed?

BTW is it neccessary to have a subsonic filter for subs in a ported box?
if you dont want your sub/subs to bottom-out playing below the tuned freq. of the ported box, then i suggest you use them.

to the best of my knowledge, in a sealed application it would not be neccessary.

So should I tune is really low?...I listen to metal...not a lot of notes get that low....so im guessing just dont do test tones lower then the tuned Freq...

the brahma should theoretically be the louder sub. A sealed sub with equal excursion to the brahma would need to be a 30in sub. When dealing with something logarithmic like this your units don't matter. The Av's only an 18. Porting is generally specified to be a 3db gain, but it's pretty loose average.
PS.Porting brahmas makes me sad
Wrong, where do you get this stuff?

piR^2 = surface area

3.14 x 15 x 15 = 706 in^2

3.14 x 18 x 18 = 1017 in^2

3.14 x 30 x 30 = 2826 in ^2

so in theory a 30 inch woof with the same excursion would displace more than 4 15"

I'd say it would be close, someone reported that his Ava got louder than his brahma too..

I would keep the 18" or replace it with a different flavor, the Brahma is too similar in design to be worth while. Or are you talking about the new ones?
