Worthy Upgrade?

Hi all, I was thinking about upgrading my Apline S65C to these - https://www.morelhifi.com/en/produc...ra-26/systems-66/maximo-ultra-602-he-mkii-116

and was wondering if it would be worth it? It shows that it would be louder than the Apline speakers.

Probably not as much louder as you think. Be careful with the sensitivity specs. Alpine uses 1 watt at 1 meter. Morel uses 2.83v at 1 meter.
2.83v at 4 ohms is 2 watts.
So the alpine is 88db with 1 watt and the morel is 94db with 2 watts.

Nice catch. I had never done the math on that. I just assumed they were equal.

These seem like they would be a bit louder and seem like they would sound good.

How much power are you running to your current speakers? What does the rest of the stereo system consist of?

I can put out 90RMS at 4ohm with my current setup. Got one of the in dash amps made by Apline. I got them wired into a bridge so I get 90 x2 instead of 45x 4. JVC Radio, 2 -12 Rockford Fosgates P3D4 600watt subs. MTX Thunder 1000 watt mono amp. 2 Apline S-S65C - 80 watt( not the newer version that is grey)

You seem to mainly be looking for an increase in volume level. Going from one component set to another of the same type isn’t going to make a huge difference. You can gain a little, but you are not going to gain a lot.
If you’re subs can play up to 100hz or 120hz and sound good, you can make the jump to a set of pro audio 6.5’s and gain a bunch of output.
