Worth the upgrade?

I've been eyeing a3000db's for a while now. I have a a2400db currently and was wondering if it was worth upgrading. Visually the board of the 3000 looks better.

I'm powering 2 r's right now and feel like somethings missing. I'll be running my jl's in the spring and want to bump up the power at 2 ohm's. 2 d6 wired down to 1.5, 2~ with imp rise

2400:

1800@1

1400@2

Prob does 1450@1 and 900~@2

2300@1

1800@2

The planet audio amp with this board had a birthsheet that said 22xxrms @ 13v. I find that hard to believe.

Tests show

1800~rms@1 at 14v

Is it worth it?

The only differences I see are the two extra transformers on the top right and 4 extra caps near the bottom. Other than that they are almost identical.

EDIT: I also see a few more heatsinks on the edges.

Yes as long as you can sell your current amp for no less than 75 or so less than the price you can get the 3000 for.
Haha. I was just about to edit my post to add that info. I could prob get 100~ for mine. so the cost diff wouldn't be so bad. I could always strap 2 2400's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Worth the upgrade? And would those changes be enough iyo for the power increase? I don't know much about the inner workings of amps.

There is only 1 heatsink. The case of the amplifier is that. What you are seeing is probably the most important part of the amplifier. Those are the actual amplifiers. The transistors that make the amp work.

Well they do all point to a power increase but I'm not sure if it would be worth all the trouble. If you could get a deal or sell your current amp for almost no loss. Otherwise I'd keep it and go with the strapping option.

Lol learn something new everyday.
