Yes and no. The drivers may not be the largest ever, but in home audio the subwoofer is considered as the driver as well as whatever it is housed in, the unit as a whole is referred to as a subwoofer.

Yes and a CPU is often used to refer to the whole tower in PC sales/marketing. It doesn't make it any less retarded.
