No, it really is pretty bad, even for free hand. I'm terrible with a jigsaw and I've pulled some very decent holes free hand with it. I wish I could show you some pictures but I'm not near the enclosure or the camera....but for free hand, it's not that noticably bad
he gave me that design that he wanted built, i didnt come up with it. with the carpet i know its 1% of the box, and i got a little paint on the outter skin that will be covered with the carpet, thats all im saying. but if it makes you guys feel better, i'll try to sand it all good and make it look alot better. i had alot better luck with liquid nails //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifI'm going to say this as nicely as possible, so don't flame me:
I don't think that you're ready just yet to be building enclosures for people. I'm hoping that it is for free, otherwise, I would be quite disappointed in seeing that. It's not to say that it's bad work, it's just not of the quality that I would personally feel comfortable selling to someone else. And your comment about things being covered up by carpeting anyway just further proves what I'm trying to say. The carpet is 1% of the box. If the box underneath isn't good, then the carpet isn't going to matter. Also, I wouldn't be using online calculators for customer boxes as you have no way to verify what it's telling you unless you do the math. And I have done the math on a few online ones, and they are nowhere near as accurate as by hand or an actual speaker enclosure design program.
I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm just being honest and letting you know that you need more practice before you take it to the next step.

Okay that's fine and everything, but what I'm trying to tell you is that you should practice more regardless of sanding off everything as it shouldn't be on there in the first place. This is not to say that it should be flawless before sanding, but it should be relatively clean. And if you should take this advice from anyone, it'd probably be me as I used to be UNDOUBTEDLY the WORST box builder on this forum when I first started, as many could tell you. However, if you just keep building boxes, you'll find yourself noticing things that you didn't realize worked before and you'll keep doing them. Keep up the work, and just put in some time and you'll amaze yourself even more than right now.he gave me that design that he wanted built, i didnt come up with it. with the carpet i know its 1% of the box, and i got a little paint on the outter skin that will be covered with the carpet, thats all im saying. but if it makes you guys feel better, i'll try to sand it all good and make it look alot better. i had alot better luck with liquid nails //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
