LOL! I had the XXX motor first!

Box is gonna be about 3.5-3.75 cube tuned as low as I can go with the 6" aero I bought. Pretty much just gonna shoot for a 30hz tune and see how close I can get.

If I did ported thats what I was thinkin for a box too. Otherwise I was thinkin of a t- line of some sort, but that will prolly take up to much space...Prolly throw it in a sealed box to see how I like it first tho.

Still waitin on gettin qoutes back and we can get this thing started

if u get one from Fi just make sure its for the XXX motor try to get one from TEAMPSI he has authentic XXX recones ... recone on the XXX is easy just make sure u get good contact on the expoxy cause that sub moves alot and make sure u glue every spider layer

Are you going to go ported or sealed?

had that in previous post, but I'm just not really sure. The box will be about 28" from the hatch, and not sure what kind of design to do with that. Not sure how a ported box will do when its so far from the hatch..I'm thinkin it would do fine tho

Always wanted to a box with a lighted plexi front too, and maybe make a nice faceplate for it...I think I'm stuck on doin a false floor about 4" high for the amps. One thing is that I'm not sure how cool the amps will stay.

A recone is a recone!!! Only difference the XXX has is the large inverted dust-cap and then the inner dust cap that goes on before that one.

Ive got pics from when I reconed mine in my build log I think. If not Ill dig them up.

Its eaaaasssssyyy.

Couple pairs of rubber gloves, some strips of printer paper, CA glue and activator. Oh yeah, and if you have a fresh basket you dont have to grind off all that nasty CA glue and surround mess. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

A recone is a recone!!! Only difference the XXX has is the large inverted dust-cap and then the inner dust cap that goes on before that one.

k, I'm not the best solderer, but I hope I can handle it...I think I'll get the recone from TEAMPSI, since Fi takes **** near forever to communicate with

Yeah if he's got them you'll probably get it sooner.

Soldering isnt bad, though the tinsels can get kind of aggravating.

oh really .... so every recone has the same voicecoil length and the same layers on the voice coil why dont u go get a a recone for a XXX then try to put it in a MT motor the voice coil wouldnt fit in the gap.... dont listen to this guy

Im simply saying the concept behind reconing a given driver is pretty much the same......
