Can't wait to get the thing reconed. Will be swapping the hdc3's out and makin a glassed box for the xxx. Will prolly be building a false floor to hide the amps too. Gonne be running my crossfire vr4000d @ 4 ohm so 2000+ rms:

Box will likely be sealed or maybe ported if I think it will do. I will build a compartment in the back of the box to hide one of my deka's and all wires and amps will be hidden too

Now does anyone know how much Fi charges to recone a 15" xxx, I will need a basket too likely. Or does anyone suggest another person to recone. Was thinkin of teampsi too....

Recone will cost you about ~$110 depending on shipping. Toss in a basket and your almost at 150.

it's easy as **** to recone the XXX. iirc the recone with basket is around 120.

though now i'm thinking of getting an 06+ XXX. i'd like to see what they can do.

Recone is a recone, only thing to watch out for on the XXX is the inner dust cap.

Well Lingerfelt has a basket and recone, but the recone has a longer coil I guess. He got it from IA, and it is similar to the mt, but is for the xxx. TeamPSI didn't suggest to use this...What about the inner dust cap?

Yeah get a hold of Dave or Nick for the recone.

Gluing the inner cap can lead to the problem I ran into, having glue run down on the former inside of the coil. Not a huge deal if you know how to handle it, but it could ruin a recone.
