my friend brought his 360 in with bluetooth headset about 10-12 games 2 wireless controllers 20gb hd and in great condition and 6 months left on x box live and they offered i think was like 98$ or something

Obviously you don't understand supply and demand.

Go to any Gamestop, look at their used 360 section and compare it to the shitty games your friend brought in. Then ask how many used 360's they have stockpiled in the back that are priced @ 170. Then take into consideration that they don't care about xbox live, as it is not valued as a trade in due to its one time use code. Also, one of the wireless controls had to go with the system at $80 trade in value, now if you want cash, they'll offer you less, because store credit is better for business. Also add in the fact that at any given time, Gamestop will usually have a trade in bonus, maybe 20 bucks more for a system, an extra 15 for 3 360 games, extra 30% on trade in. Your estimate of 98 dollars is ridiculous, and unless his system didn't work, or the games were scratched, there is no way it would be less than 100 bucks. BTW, all prices are through corporate research.

Basically, if you don't want to read that, Gamestop has a bunch of used 360's that don't sell, due to the shitty quality of the console at launch, and can't keep stocking them, so they low-ball everyone who is in need of crack money.

I knew a girl who worked there who had NO idea what an RTS is was... which, I guess I can understand.

But she didn't even know what an FPS was.

Nor did she know was COD4 was. She said, and I quote, "I don't fuckin' know, man! I just work there!"

Mean while they won't hire me because I'm not "professional looking". That may be true, but at least I know the product.

I understand it being corporate why they price the way they do. I just think it's shitty, especially less cash back. I know it's better for business, but meh.

And yeah, the gamestops around me are shitty. A bunch of corporate toolbags running around talking about products they don't know anything about.
