60$ for 30gig video ipod

This isn't in the classifieds because its not forsale/trade/WTB. I ran across this deal for a 30 gig video ipod for 60$ from my friend cuz he's getting a new one. I guess he wants to sell his old one and I offered him 50 he said 60, sound like a fair deal?

Anything I should look for when buying it? I mean besides the obvious physical damage... How do batteries on these guys last?

That is a good price as long as everything works.

Batteries do decent, could be better, but seen many others not last nearly as long. My Nano holds a decent charge, but it was always direct connected to my deck, which was being charged at all times, lol!

If you're doing a direct connect of something of that sort to your deck it will charge it so you won't need to worry about the battery too much.

I have no idea how my battery is because it rarely leaves the glove box

On my 30g i use to have, i would use it about 2-3 hours a day every day and it would need charge like once a week.

I plan on using it while I'm riding my bike... eventually direct link to car. Mostly for while riding bike and at school though.

Batteries are easy to replace in the iPods. Just get a new one now and replace it later when you feel like it. That's a good price though.

I still like my 2nd Gen 120GB Zune more than an iPod though.

Leaving the iPod connected to an iPod interface all the time will destroy the battery life. Give it some time, you'll see what I mean. Hell of a deal though.
