What is the best way to get my VAIO running like new? Every know and then I do a disk clean up and every now and then I'll delete some programs that I dont use. Im looking into getting one of those PC clean up programs. ANy suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

CCleaner, RegSeeker, Tune-Up Utilities 2008-9....For a REAL good cleaning, re-install your OS and start from scratch. Nothing beats a fresh install to get rid of all the crap.

x2 on TUU08 and CCleaner. Those two things and NOD32 are all you need to keep your computer safe and running right. Well, unless you want a firewall too. Then get Zonealarm too.

Here is what I am running, and having ZERO problems with:

1) Norton 360 v2.0 (Anti-Virus & Firewall in one)

2) Tune-Up Utilities 2008 (For All-Around PC cleanliness)

3) CCLeaner v2.13.720 (For temp. files)

4) RegSeeker (For cleaning registry once in a while. Does a much better job than any other registry editing program I have ever experimented with.)

Should be all you need....if I think of more, I will add to the list!

And also, I still very much recommend a full re-install of your OS (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.) Makes life so much easier. Then, just keep up on maintenance. I am good for a year if I keep things clean. But I still do a fresh install once a year or so.

yeah ill double that, tobad if you dont know how to do it, you gotta find out how, and then it take 9 billion years (from what i remember)

just re-install windows with a windows xp disk (not the one that came with the computer) works for me every time. (I do it just about every 6 months)
