WoofersETC.com now authorized to sell RE

uhhh, its a production line sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Most that it costs for them is $500, and even thats a bit of a stretch.
Not wanting to argue snoop, but it is alot diffrent than a sub with a 12 spoke and 6.5" slugs, not to mention R&D. Also, how much do you think the shoes you are wearing or the shirt you have on cost to build, how much did you pay for them?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry, it may be speculation , but It follows the general attitude of the members of this forum. For example, most members of this forum would rather buy online than from a B&M.
i know you own a shop but you keep making it seem that buying online is bad. if the local shop had the items i wanted at the same price of course i'd go there. i still don't see any advantage paying more at a shop then online

you're right, you dont wanna argue with me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif cause you or anyone else is the last person that has to suggest I dont know about R&D costs. I spend 7 years doing R&D superconducting magnet research at Texas A&M University and I currently work for a couple of the subwoofer manufactuers that people mention on here fequently. So dont mistake my view on what it costs these companies to make anything, of all people im sure I know what the bottom line production costs way before you at the lower level dealer would.

/end of you presuming....which BTW you seem to do alot of. Now go whine about online dealers elsewhere.

Many companies will not allow online dealers because they feel that they are not going to be around long and do not support the product well. There is this feeling of all online dealers are fly-by-night shams, when it is not 100% true. Companies feel that brick and mortar stores are more stable. When all the while, they can pop up and disappear at nearly the same rate as online dealers. Not to mention many companies are moving to higher and higher dealer right buy ins, making it very difficult for the smaller stores to even have a chance, be it online or brick and mortar. I am not going to point fingers, but many of the big companies are asking a huge buy in, followed by something like 50k in sales of their product line a month. Now come on, how many of the actual audio shops really do anywhere near that amount of sales total (who are not best buy or CC) regardless of product line. So hence comes the ever rising price of products in stores, many have to raise their prices to stay a float to keep up with the lost business that is going towards the online retailers. At least in the United States, more and more products are being bought and sold online every year. It is convenient and in some cases cheaper. No gas or wear and tear on the vehicle driving to the store that might have the product in stock you want, and not having to deal with in some cases very pushy salesmen that in many cases steer people in the wrong direction, and get them to spend more money than they need and buy a product they did not intend to buy. Many customers prefer contact to remain to a simple email, which in some instances are just as effective and take much less time. I would know this, I managed an audio store before. When the owner kept pushing Audiobahn and other cheap crap on customers I knew I could not be there anymore. There was no fun in it anymore, and I have not competed seriously since.

Sorry man, I was just saying that there is more cost involved in designing and manufacturing a 18XXX than a more traditional 18" woofer. As far as the cost of building a 18XXX being 500, I would say that is probably a little on the high side, but you are correct, I really dont know I am only speculating. Manufactures have to make money, so do distributors, reps, and lastly dealers. If I can sell a 18XXX for $1000 and still make money, I would think 500 for the build would be a little high. The XXX18 likely cost less than 500 to build, why is that so bad?

So I guess everyone should buy from them and not their local dealers if the price is the same? Way to support the industry.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
Believe it or not, sometimes an individual's local dealer does not even carry RE. Hard to believe, but it is true.
