wood glues

Which instant bond did you use thin, medium, thick, gel? Did you use activator? Why do you prefer tb3?

The reason i started this thread is I don't use screws/brads/staples in my boxes and titebond 2 seems to take about 1-1 1/2 hours to fully dry i'm just looking for an faster alternative without sacrificing too much reliability

I believe it was the medium, I didn't use no activator either. I prefer tb3 over it because I liked the first initial tack hold. I'd rather let something cure its fullest in a couple hours than speeding up the process of curing and not having tight joints on the box...

I dont use brad nails either.. If Im in a hurry I clamp it, screw it together and move on to the next piece.

super glue will not hold a box together. that is a CRAZY idea. 1.625 wood screws and titebond 3 is the ONLY way to make a strong box...
This is not true. Haha, not true AT ALL..

There are so many other ways to make boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif.

Fiberglass, 1.125" screws, 1.25" screws, 1.5" screws, Titebond II, Elmers Wood Glue, Titebond I, etc. etc...

Just because you use 1.625 wood screws and titebond 3 doesn't mean it's the only way to make a box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

well i have only built a few hundred enclosures and alot of them used for comp and never had one come apart or break.

you can build what ever way ya want i just have many yrs experience and was tring to share real world results. oh well...

I use Titebond 2 premium and like it better than the instabond, i tried the instabond and gorilla glue and gorilla glue is good for going around the inside of the box for that extra seal just incase. Doesnt seem to shrink like titebond does. I also use a 1.75 inch screw every foot or so just incase. To those who say not to use screws because the wood glue is a tighter bond than the wood itself, why would you not want to add screws just to help support that bond incase of something drastic happening?

I mainly do not use any wood screws because it's easier to do a nice finish on the box without the screws, (router edges, sand, paint, ect) Have never had one come apart or joints loosing. If go to tear one down with a rubber mallet the wood always cracks and the glued joint stays together. Just my experience.
