Is a 3" port 2 small for 1.81^3?

I know I'm gonna catch hell for this box but I had it built just to sell the speaker. It's right @ 1.81^3 and the 3" port is on the side of the box tuned to around 33hrtz (port length is just about 7.5"). Now the problem is the speaker hits the low notes perfect but some of the higher tones are almost non exsistant. Do you think the port is too small or the box is tuned too low? whatever help can be provided will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
