Women killed by water intoxication

First, Im sure she had to sign a waiver or something. Radio stations may be dumb, but they cant just spring up a contest without any reviewing of legal ramifications (sp?). Secondly, dieing for a wii is dumb.

Also, It is impossible (as it has already been proven) to overdose on weed. You would pass the **** out for days beore being o.d.'d on weed.

The only way I could fathom OD'ing on weed would be to have concentrated THC injected into you. But then again, its not weed anymore, just the active ingredient. And you would most def pass out before you could possible smoke that much. If not from the THC itself, then from the smoke inhalation. It would be a peaceful death none the less if you could pull something like this off.

she had to sign papers to protect them from legal actions....lawyers think ahead:laugh:

Just because you have contestants sign papers, it doesn't necessarily protect you from losing a case.

1) A nurse called in warning the radio station that these people could die from water intoxication and they laughed it off and thought the lady was crazy.

2) Even with a signed paper releasing the radio station, they can still be sued for negligance.

3) All 10 people involved with the radio show were fired.

Nintendo's new slogan:

Wii, it's to die for.

man thats so sad. she just wanted to win her kids a wii. Her kids lost her for 250$. doesnt seem like a fair amount for a loving mother!
I don't think there is a fair amount... Especially in this day and age where a newborn baby is found in a trash can everyday. It's sad knowing these kids will have to grow up without the mother that obviously cared a lot about them.

I hope they sue the pants off of that company, and I'm NOT a sue happy person. This goes beyond HER personal responsibility, it should've also been the personal responsibility of every person involved at the station. I highly doubt that if the station put up a banner that said "Hold your WEE for a Wii... You might DIE, but hey, it's cheaper than buying one" 20 people would have entered the contest. The bottom line here is no one researched the risks involved with this stunt, and because they didn't they will be held responsible.

I guess if one good thing comes from this it will be that the whole world will now know that drinking too much water can kill you. A fact that a lot of people (including myself) didn't know or wouldn't have considered possible...

Stupidity reproduces at an alarming rate these days.
