wish me luck!

Heh, sounds fun. There are no rescue parties or gps? How will you ever find your way? Map and compass maybe?
No rescue parties. We will have GPS but will use it at a minimal. definatly using a map and compass. In march a bunch of us will go to another camp out and we are going to try to strictly land navigate with map and compas only.

I can easily tap steel with mine free handed at 300yds. My trijicon scope has a drop compensator for up to 800. I feel I can easily take someone out setting prone with something to rest on at 4-500yds with mine and its only a 16" with a flash hider and tele stock. Its no tack driver or precision rifle but it was not intended for that, it is a pure medium range combat weapon for people on the move. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
How are you supposed to shoot it? My friend was "okay" effective from the hip. I ****** ass trying to shoot it like a rifle. My arms must be too long because I couldn't see the scope when I put the non-barrel end to my shoulder. It is only the second gun I have shot besides a BB gun. I like the handguns okay. I also learned you can't aim for **** when you hold a gun sideways like in the movies, but it is quite thrilling to pop off several shots in a row.

Where are you trying to go? Or is the goal to "live off the land" I don't understand the goal of such things. I am not knocking it, I just don't understand.

if it was a colapsable stock then you should have extended it. Other then that you just need more exp with different firearms and some one to show you I guess. I do a lot of high volume shooting with many of weapons.

i hear that man..theres no safe queens here ahahha...i`ve got an Eo 552 on her right now..pretty decent optics...just wanna step it up
I will probably put an EO on my next one just so I have one. I like them alot for a holosight.

Its just an outing for the sole purpose of gaining experience, learn skills, test equipment, and have fun if you like the outdoors. We will decide our goal and destination when we start hikeing.

good luck bro. one of these days i'll have some cash and need to talk to you about some good hunting rifles and assult rifles. you still need to get your happy ass up here so we can go shooting

For some reason when I tilt the M16 to the side like at a 45 degree angle, like I am shooting with a Promask on, I get much better....most of the time.

I am still alive. Seen some cool stuff. It hasnt rained in oklahoma for 6months but for some reason it decided to drop a couple of inches of rain on us last night and this morning.

You kill some things?
no but seen alot of wild life and heard plenty of yotes, hogs, and some other large mean sounding animals that I could not explaine close to our camp at night. Got lost a few times. It was fun but mostly more of a "recon" of our big campout in march in that area with a lot more people from several states.

here are a few pics of the area
