Yeah they are very nice especially if you acctually use it in the field on day/night excursians or whatever. I use mine pretty much exactly for what it was intended for, it not jus some fancy peice of eye candy like a lot of people. I paid about $900 for my acog w/bac with the chevron recticle.those acog`s are damm nice optics...been savin my pennies to get one for my M4..but have fun man...sounds like a pretty good time
No rescue parties. We will have GPS but will use it at a minimal. definatly using a map and compass. In march a bunch of us will go to another camp out and we are going to try to strictly land navigate with map and compas only.Heh, sounds fun. There are no rescue parties or gps? How will you ever find your way? Map and compass maybe?
How are you supposed to shoot it? My friend was "okay" effective from the hip. I sucked *** trying to shoot it like a rifle. My arms must be too long because I couldn't see the scope when I put the non-barrel end to my shoulder. It is only the second gun I have shot besides a BB gun. I like the handguns okay. I also learned you can't aim for shit when you hold a gun sideways like in the movies, but it is quite thrilling to pop off several shots in a row.I can easily tap steel with mine free handed at 300yds. My trijicon scope has a drop compensator for up to 800. I feel I can easily take someone out setting prone with something to rest on at 4-500yds with mine and its only a 16" with a flash hider and tele stock. Its no tack driver or precision rifle but it was not intended for that, it is a pure medium range combat weapon for people on the move. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Its just an outing for the sole purpose of gaining experience, learn skills, test equipment, and have fun if you like the outdoors. We will decide our goal and destination when we start hikeing.Where are you trying to go? Or is the goal to "live off the land" I don't understand the goal of such things. I am not knocking it, I just don't understand.
