Wise or Unwise

I have a set of components in the front and rear doors. I have been searching for 4-channel amps to replace the one I have and it just dawned on me, could I run a 2 channel, run the fronts together @ 2ohm, and the rear together @ 2-ohms. Would this kill sound quality moving from 4 - 2 ohms? Brands are in my sig. Also, rear are probably going to get replaced with the precision power 356cs set soon, possibly both?

That would work fine. Just don't bridge the amp and make sure it's 2 ohm stable (should be).
