Wiring...

So I plan to run a new system in the next week or two. I am gonna be using an amp that does about 1500watts rms, and feed it to two subs. I am thinking that 4 guage wire is sufficient to supply this amount of power, but is 2 guage necessary? I know it couldn't hurt, and I plan to get the 2 guage if I can find it for a similar price compared to the 4 guage. So... Just throw me some ePinions.

what is the fuse rating on the amp? watts means nothing about power consumption

Well, that's a good question, but I haven't picked out an amp yet.. so... I guess that would be a problem...

id say regardless go as big on the wire as you can afford ... that way if u upgrade amps or what not later on your set !

It never hurts to run larger wire then needed. MOST likley, 4 guage would be good, but u never know for sure. Get 2 guage to cover whatever you go with.

Also, if you go to KnuKonceptz, you can find wire that is equivalent to 3 AWG. This page is their Kolossus Kable 4 Gauge (The Superior Model from them). Then if you go to the Eko Kable 4 gauge, it tells you that the Kolossus Kable is actually 3 gauge AWG.
