wiring up subs and amp

hey guys im fairly new to the car audio game.

one of my friends just purchased a 2007 kicker 12 inch l7

what i wanted to know what is the best way to wire this sub with this amp

its a kenwood KAC-8104D, the reason for using this amp is because another friend has it and it can be acquired for a good price.

now if you guys can please tell me whats the best way to wire the sub with the amp it would be greatly appreciated.

car: 1990 jeep cherokee

sub: 2007 kicker l7 12inch

amp:kenwood KAC-8104D

also please instruct me to what type of wire i should use for each application. and also if this amp is not good please tell me why and what else i should use. the box is already made so no problem there. thanks in advance

If it is a dual 4 wire in parralel. Both negatives on the sub to the negative on the amp. Same for positive.

If its dual 2, you have to wire in series but i doubt it is. It says on the terminals on the sub.

thanks for the quick responses. yes the sub is a DVC 4.

so my best option would be to wire at 2 ohms to get 500rms correct?

theres no way i can wire it according to the bestbuy website to get 1000watts(or anything above 500watts) bridged at 4 ohms right?

do you think any electrical upgrades will be needed?

best buy website has a typo, you want it at 2 ohms. for 500 watts that amp wont make more than 500 watts
