out of those 2 diagrams what would be the most efficient way to wire up my amps and batteries together? different people have different ideas and we just want to find the most efficient way so we can stop messing with these batteries haha. keep in mind the pic doesnt have my frame ground but the frame ground are at the end where all the amps hook into. we have 4 of them.

Yeah, idea2 is stupid...

why would you put a link between every single battery on the other side...

you do realize once connected, they'll act as one battery and you don't need to double daisy chain...?

this is for 8 memphis 4kw's. we are trying to get the best and most efficient way to get power to the amps. it seems like in number 1 that we would be trying to get 2000amps out of one little connection so we would drain that battery while the others are still trying to charge it. it seems like it would bottleneck.

I think you would be right...everyone I seen at finals in 2005 hooked theirs up closer to #2 with or without buss bars.

Well, if the connections between the batteries in idea1 are sufficient, then they should act as one large battery...

I still think as long as connections are sufficient, either way would work I'd use the most cost effective way...

well i have enough wire to wire it both ways. the way i see it is 4 amps are drawing off one battery which would be drawing somewhere around 2000 amps. to me it seems better if the amps are more spread out on the bank so not 1 battery is getting instantly drained and the ones behind it are trying to keep it charged as fast as its draining.

number 1 is actually 2 banks connected by the middle battery at the end that goes to the front to the alt. it charges each bank cuz the end of each bank has 2 grounds that go to frame.

I think the same thing i would figure being spread out would help the voltage try it both ways and see whats better voltage haha

but i say number 2

If the links between batteries are going to be wire.... then wire up the batteries using method one. Then split up the amp wires between the batts. The reason you will do it this way is because its hard to get like 8 terminals on one battery post.

The best way is to fabricate heavy buss bars... you can then drill the buss bar and bolt a terminal on wherever you wish.... as the batt bank is all connected and acting as one huge battery. This usually allows you to save a bit of wire, look really neat, and have better current flow. Ground right to the buss bar on the ground connection... then at the end of the link do multiple runs of 1/0 power and ground to the front batt.
