Wiring up 2 JL 12W6s

I just bought a car with 2 12" JL W6s the subs just say 12w6 doesn't say the ohm, I put the ohm tester to each voice coil and it says 3ohms for one side so I'm presuming they are the dual 6ohm voice coil subs. I currently have them wires in parralel so its 2x3ohm however I would to put the subs up to a mono amp is there anyway to put both subs to a mono amp with a final low ohm resistance.... thanks

so both speakers wire parrell making 2 speakers at 3 ohm then both put into a mono amp will make a 1.5 load?
