wiring two amps

Is there a way to have one power wire coming off the battery and one fuse, then when it gets back to the amps have somethig so that i cant have the wire split into two for two separate amps

Commonly accepted wisdom dictates one fuse on the main power cable within a few inches of the battery and then immediately after the distribution block fuse each lead to the various amps.

Weeeelll........I'm of a bit of a different mind on this subject than most....

Ido neither, personally, and have had no reason to regret it thus far. I've always been content to trust the fuses in the amps to keep them from burning up in case of a problem and I've never toasted a vehicle either.

But most would tell you that the fuse by the battery and the fuses after the distro for the amp are both a necessity.

you always need to fuse your wires if you are going to have a change in wire size.

i have a 4 gauge battery lead with a fuse under the hood, then it runs through the car blah blah gets to the distro block, and i comes out to 2 4 guage leads (4 max) its worked fine for me for years.

Most of them have 4 gauge inputs and 8 gauge outputs, is 8 gauge large enough for an amp pushing 1000w-1500w

One of the amps i will be running is the hifonics 1500d so it would be around 1500w rms if i ran it at 1 ohm but i currently have it running at 1000w rms at 2 ohms.

well i know that the hifonics amp has a 4 gauge 12+ input so i would give it the 4ga but thats just me,

even though it says its 4 input and 8 output, can i still use 4 gauge for the output

it probably wont fit theres T splitters with 1 entry and 2 4 ga outputs, there cheap too.

yea i saw those too. But i forgot that i would need 3 becuase i have another amp for my speakers. Would it be ok to cut alittle bit of the end of the 4 gauge untill it fits in the 8 gauge slot
