Wiring subs to my monoblock

Not good with this ohm load thing.

I have 2 12'' Boss Phantoms 4 ohm dual voice coil

I'm using a BOSS AR4000D 4000W Mono D amp on them....

(I know boss is junk, toss them out blah blah) lol

I'm not trying to win any competitions here just want a little bass in the car.

The amps 1 and 2 ohm stable. I want to wire them at 2ohms.

(Box I built has 2 outs not sure if I'll need them both.)

Dual 4 subs can be wired as 4 ohm or 1 ohm per pair for the amp ...To wire it 1 ohm ...run your positive and negative together and go from your terminal to one side r the other ...then your terminal block will see a 2 ohm load...Id do each box terminal that way ...If your mono amp is 1 ohm stable like you stated ...there should be 4 speaker connections on the amp two pos and two neg ...on each side run wire to each terminal plate on box...

There's only one channel for speakers coming out of my amp, Mono block... But how would I wire them to 4 ohm then? I've heard alot on reveiws about the amp getting hot and I don't want that problem. I'm not worried about loosing some sound, like I said I'm not tryin to compete just get some bass for my mids and highs

Do like I said on the wiring in the box ...then you,ll have a positive and negative terminal for each side on the box ....run a wire from postive on one side to negative on the other side ...with the remaining negative and pos unused terminal run to the amp

Ok will do. If I do it on each side and use both box terminals, then connect them to the same point on the amp will that change the ohm resistance?

There are multiple options to wire to a given impedance with a pair of dvc's.

You can run two leads from the amp and do the series/parallel at each sub. You can run one lead to the first sub and daisy chain from there to the next. Still -- your options are 1 or 4 ohms (16 too, but that's not a practical impedance).

If you want 4 ohms, do this:

Then wire the terminals parallel - again you won't be connecting to the subs as the image shows, you'll be connecting to the box terminals: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/product/img/subwoofer_wiring/2_subs_SVC_8_ohm_mono.jpg

The pic shows the daisy chain option. If you'd prefer you can run two leads from the amp to each sub individually -- it's still parallel, still 4 ohms at the amp.

I ended up going down to 1ohm. I had the gain and bass boost way up on the amp so it would be louder and didn't want the amp getting hot so went down to 1 and turned everything down. Sounds pretty great for some cheap subs and amp. I got $150 in all of it (besides box wood) which I already had.
