Wiring series and parallel

If I have 2 SVC 4 ohm sub woofers and I want to wire them at 4 ohms, can I wire them in series and parallel. Or will this only work if I have four or more coils to work with?

I think I could just wire them in parallel, and then wire them in series. I could be wrong though.

Not going to be able to wire those to a 4 ohm load.

You said each woofer has only one voice coil. With that being the case, you can only wire them in parallel to get 2 ohms, or series to get 8 ohms. It is not possible to wire 2 voice coils in 2 different configurations simultaneously.
