Wiring Question

I got my box built for my AQ HDC 12" and I wired it up and everything and it's working great. Now my question is, when I wired it I tied one side of the pos/neg up to each other and the other side is hooked up to the amp. Is that ok? Or do I need to have the pos from one side and the neg from the other side hooked up? OR does it not matter? Thanks in advance.

If you are trying to run series to drop the load, one wire goes from one positive to the negative on the other voicecoil. Then the leftover positive from one side and negative from the other goes to the amp.

Yea I'm trying to run it on 2 ohm instead of .5 ohm.
