Wiring Question

hey guys. so i have 2 memphis pr's dual 4 ohms. i also have to kenwood 8104d mono amps. i want to be able to run one sub to each amp but if i run each sub to two ohms the amp will giv the sub too much power so is there anyway i can wire each sub to 4 ohms??
Run them at 2 ohms and keep the gains on the amps down.

Run them at 2. At 8 you're looking at 150-200w.

Memphis makes a good sub and Kenwood's amps are a little optimistically rated.

Keep the gains on the low side and your subs will be fine.

alright i have another question and i didnt want to start another thread they are in a tiny sealed box for right now would inverting them make them any louder or would that just be a waste of time?

hey guys bringing up this old topic so i wouldnt have to start a new thread and it goes in with what the title says so i upgraded again to two re se dual 2 ohms i believe. but i still have the two kenwood amps is there anyway to wire them both together so its at two ohms but run both amps to just one speaker

if you can strap them yes, otherwise i wouldnt suggest it cause then you would have to completely match the gains. very difficult to do. run one amp to one sub, make sure the subs are in a dual chambered box and oyu should be fine.

Technically, if you have an O-scope, matching the gains would not bee all that difficult.
i dont see that making a difference, because each amp is going to clip at a different volume, it would be one in a million to get the amps to put out the same exact power before clip. youll get it closer, but just not the same.

strap them or run one amp.

It wouldn't be hard at all with an oscilloscope. You'll see where both amps start to clip and basically set them both to the weaker amps limits. That's really simple and definitely not a one in a million shot.

whats it mean when you say '"strap them?" and i dont have an o scope so i just have them ran to 4 ohms on each amp and the bass boost all the way up on each amp and and the input sensitivity about 3/4 way on both amps
