Wiring question

I have 2 dual 4 ohm subs and a kicker zx750.1 mono amp. Somebody I know told me that i would only be able to wire to 1 or 4 ohms and 1 is out of the question since the subs/amp arent stable at that impedance. This would leave only the 4 ohm option. I thought if I wired them in parallel that they would be 2 ohms though. Am I right or am I stuck with a 4 ohm load?

alright **** that sucks, i might need some new subs then, i have 2 12" mtx subs in a sealed box. If i buy two different 12's from a different company will they still fit the mtx box and is it had to switch em out

Different subs require different amounts of airspace to work correctly.

You will have to either replace them with something that has similar requirements, or build a new box.
