Wiring Question For New Sub

I am currently in posession of a rockford fosgate 1001bd and am wondering if it will provide sufficient power to the new 3 ohm 12" W7...i previously ran a 13.5 W6V2 off of this amp and hit 142 @ a USACI comp so if i can keep this amp i would like to...jl 1000/1 pretty expensive lol

I am not sure of the ratings on the fosgate amp, but I can tell you that you will get a little more then the 4ohm rating on that amp. The JL will put out signiicantly more power being that it is made for full power at 3ohm, but I bet that the fosgate has a good 6-700rms @3ohm.

the amp is rated @ 1000x1 RMS @ 2 ohms

500x1 RMS @ 4 ohms...btw i just tested my 13.5 which was underwater in the hurricane and it still works but i m hesitant to go through the trouble of putting it in my new vehicle

Rockford lists it at around 500rms x1 @ 4 ohms. So 600-700 would be a safe assumption.
