just wanted to make sure i did this right is this how its done for 2 ohms ?
use imgur.com to upload pictures and just copy the bb code. Your pics arent working. Thanks CRX, so i have dual 2 ohms so this is the right way to do it ?![]()
First one is 4 ohms, 2nd one is also 4 ohms. No difference. You wont get 2 ohms with a single D2 sub. You only have the option of series/parallel = 4 ohms final Or parallel = 1 ohm final.
That sub pictured is definitely 2 Ohm DVC. Like Jeffdachef said, you can only wire it to 4 ohms or 1 ohm. If you added a second identical sub with the same coil configuration you could then wire the pair to 1 ohm.thanks for the reply, but i thought the new alpine type r's where dVC 2 0hms . So there is no way to run it at 2 ohms ?
Its a dual 2 sub ...so just run two sets of speaker wires from amp to the sub and hook up red and black to each side...if its a stereo amp it will see 2 ohms ..no need to use jumpersjust wanted to make sure i did this right is this how its done for 2 ohms ?

Unfortunately that's your only option right now. It'll still get 600W+ RMS, which should definitely get it moving.ok thanks for the help guys, i get it now, im running an alpine mrp-m1000, I wanted to wire it at 2 ohms but i guess i can only do 4 ohms
I just saw this...yes 4 ohm will be your only option with that sub and amp combo....ok thanks for the help guys, i get it now, im running an alpine mrp-m1000, I wanted to wire it at 2 ohms but i guess i can only do 4 ohms
To get to 2 ohms with a single sub it either has to be a DVC (dual voice coil) 2 ohm (allowing 8 ohms or 2 ohms) sub, a SVC 2 ohm sub (pretty straightforward, one voicecoil, just straight up wire the positive and negative), or a DVC 1 ohm sub (allowing 2 ohms or .5 ohm, an impedence that many amps won't handle).Got it . I know its a know question but, in order to run a subwoofer at 2 ohms does it have to be dvc 4 ohms? And does Alpine make a sub that's 2 ohm compatible?
