I got in an accident recently so I got my amp+sub hooked up to my TV via car battery n charger. But Im having trouble with my sony cd player. Its the kind that the face plate slides down to put the cd in and it doesnt want to do that right now. Is there ne way I could hook it to the battery so I dont have to keep running outside to my spare car just to test it?

I got an 250w pc power supply would that work. I had to wired to power my amp but the amp never turned on but the fans on the PS did. Think I needed more power! so i got the battery n charger. How would I wire the cd player to it? Connect both red+yellow to the same power n black to the ground?

I'm not sure about the computer power supply...but you'll need something that can handle the amps of your system...they are fused for full tilt..for listening to in home you can probably drop that number in half...say your car cd player is fused at 20 use 10 ....your amp fused at 40 so 20 ...for listening too if your not beating the hell out of it a 30 amp power supply would work for example...so figure your fuses divide by half and goto Radio Shack and get a power supply at least that size or bigger

If the power supply was giving power the amp would have turned on, but either shut down the PSU as soon as you hooked it up to play music or would have turned on for a second and shut down the PSU if there wasn't enough power. You must have had the remote wire not connected or something.

If you are using the power supply you could connect the yellow to the positive, along with the red with a switch on it so the HU turns on when you hit the switch. Then just black to ground and speaker/RCA connections.
